This culture pack of 1 Variegated Alocasia Black Velvet Plantlets/Tissue Culture are sold in agar gel & ready to acclimate in their new jungle
The Alocasia Black Velvet is a coveted Alocasia. Its velvety texture with near black foliage, makes it among the most desired plants. Add variegation to the mix and you have one of the most impressive velvets in the rare & variegated hobby
Our acclimation guide can be found provided below:
Step 1- Do not do anything to the culture for 1-2 days to allow them to adjust to their new temperatures
Step 2- Open the package & wash out the jelly as thoroughly as possible. A small paint brush can be gently used to assist with the cleaning process
Step 3- Soak them in a rooting hormone if available. This step is not necessary for success
Step 4- Plant your cultures in the medium of your choice. We recommend a chunky blend of coco husk & perlite (available for purchase in our Add On collection)
Step 5- Place them into a closed package (container or plastic bag) while allowing light to pass through. Place under a grow light
Step 6- Leave plants covered for the first 7 days. The following 7 to 10 days slowly expose plants to ambient air. Each day exposing the plants to slightly more air until fully acclimated.
